My work in couples therapy is rooted in attachment theory and informed by training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFTC) and the Gottman Method . Couples often come to therapy for a variety of reasons, such as:
- Communication issues
- Sexual issues
- Loss of attraction and affection
- Family issues
- Intimacy issues
Along with love, inherent in the nature of relationships is conflict. The trick is the ability to learn how to have respect and effectively engage in communication with one another when problems arise. My couples practice often involves looking at one's relational history and family dynamics to better understand what types of conflicts we find our selves in, and how to move forward and find a solution.
